The Boston Rock Gym's CWA certified instructors will guide you through the basics of using the equipment and help you to develop safe climbing habits.
By successfully completing the Intro to Indoor Climbing class, you will be able to start working on your climbing technique and endurance on your own or, if you wish, through more advanced lessons or technique clinics.
- Securing your harness
- Properly tying into the rope using a figure 8 follow through knot
- Completing your safety checks
- Belaying in a top rope system using an ATC belay device
- Catching a falling climber
- Lowering your partner to the ground
Climbing shoes, harness, locking carabiner and belay device are provided.
You will get a FREE day pass for the day of the class and a FREE two-week gym membership to practice your new skills when you sign up!

Comfortable clothing that does not inhibit movement. Tights, sweats, long shorts, T-shirts, tank tops and sports bras all work great.
